Header Specs:

This header is designed for any tube size up to 2 ¼” with any collector size up to 4” or our collector mufflers up to a 5” size. All of the tubes are inside the frame with good ground clearance and access to the spark plugs. The engine must remain in the stock location either on side motor mounts or motor plates. Since this header is designed for very large tube sizes you will have to trim the rear top corner of the driver side motor mount frame stand for header clearance. Ask our sales person for more information. This header requires a mini starter a full size GM starter will not fit. Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan we have 2 ½” of room on the passenger side and 4” of room on the driver side for oil pan sump kick outs. If there is no pan kick out on the driver side the oil filter will be very accessible, but if the pan kicks out under the filter it will be trapped and you will need a remote filter. This header fits a power brake booster and clutch linkage, but does NOT fit factory air conditioning or column shifter linkage. If you are using a Lakewood style scatter shield you may have to slightly trim the outer edge below the starter area.

Header Installation:

This header is normally built with individual tubes and slip on collectors for easier installation. Remove spark plugs. The starter and oil filter should be able to stay in place.
Driver side: you can install all the tubes from the top, start with #1 then #3 & #5 and last #7 only snug all the header bolts, but don’t tighten them until the collector is installed, then tighten all the bolts.
Passenger side: Again all these tubes can install from the top. Start with the center pair first, #4 & #6, then #2 and last #8, install the collector and tighten all the header bolts.
